The Etel river is commonly named that way, but it is in fact a ria: its water is salty as the sea goes deep in the land in that area. The ria is rather flat compared to others in Northern Brittany, but this zone offers a variety of small coves, ponds, villages and chapels all of it very picturesque.
On our trip there, we were staying near the mouth of the ria, in a former fisherman house we had rent in the village of Plouhinec.
