Troyes is the second largest city of Champagne. It has a rich past still present in its old quarter. The inner part of the city, which is full of old buildings, is shaped like a Champagne cork. Troyes is the city that has the largest number of half timbered houses in all of France. A major fire destroyed part of them in 1524, but they were rebuilt the same way.
