This château is a curiosity nestled in the woods of Essonne, 40km away from Paris. It is a private estate and is only open on Sunday afternoons (2 to 6 pm). The château was one of the most beautiful in the whole Ile de France when it was built, under Louis XVI. Numerous poets and writers stayed there and found the place particularly inspiring.
