The Parc de Sceaux on a Sunday afternoon
Caption
The parc de Sceaux is a 181 ha enclosure, one of the few large domains that were scattered around Paris. Colbert, one of the counsellors of Louis the 14th, purchased it in 1670 and worked on improving the original castle. The gardens were designed by AndrŽ le Notre (as many others in Ile de France).
