The town of Honfleur and its typical harbor have often been represented on paintings by famous artists such as Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, or Claude Monet. The so called school of Honfleur was one of the origins of the impressionist style.
Today, Honfleur is a quite curious little town, full of old buildings, seaside restaurants and art galleries. It is still very picturesque and a major touristic destination in Normandy.
