Etretat is famous for its white cliffs, its pebble beach and the famous painters that made them immortal: Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin and Claude Monnet. In the 19th century, this fame changed it from a small fishermen's village to a nice seaside resort, living mostly from tourism.
