The Jardin des Plantes is located in Eastern Paris, just beside the Austerlitz train station. It contains several different attractions:
- Nice gardens
- A small zoo
- The Natural History Museum with the Paleontology gallery in one building and the impressive Great gallery of evolution in the other
- Recently restored geenhouses with tropical and desert plants
