Evening at the Pantheon
Caption
Located in the 5th arrondissement, the Pantheon was originally a church devoted to Sainte Genevieve, who had saved Paris during the Hun invasion in the 5th century. During the French Revolution, it was decided that the building, which had been finished only a few years ago, would be a temple to the great men of the Republic. Sainte Genevieve still has a shrine in a smaller church nearby.
