Palais Royal is a district in Central Paris located North of the Louvre, between Place Vendôme and les Halles. It is home of the Palais Royal and its gardens. In the 18th century, the galleries on the sides of this building were full of restaurants and cafes. These have been replaced by specialty shops around a nice quiet garden. A few ministries and central french administrations use the main buildings in its southern part, near the rue Saint Honoré.
