Saint Nectaire church pillar tops
Caption
The inside of the Saint Nectaire church is rather dark. The side windows are high and small. Only in the choir can larger windows be found. They provide a good lighting for the pillars around the choir, which top area is sculpted with fascinating small characters. They still have some traces of paint and were probably entirely decorated during the middle ages. Some only have vegetal inspired sculptures, others have animals and the ones on this photo have humans.
